UPOLU & SAVAII WATER SUPPLY SCHEMES WASSP PHASE 1 – WORKS CONTRACT SAMOA

The Government of Samoa has received a grant (ACP-WSO-004) under the 9th European Development Fund (EDF) programme of the European Communities to implement a Water Sector Support Programme (WaSSP). As part of this programme, the Government now intends to award a contract for a first phase (Phase 1) of the rural water supply rehabilitation and improvement works. The Phase 1 works cover six rural water supply zones on Upolu and Savaii and include the rehabilitation of water intakes and springs (2nos) ; rehabilitation of borehole and annexes (8nos), including replacement of submersible pumps (2nos) and accessories : rehabilitation of reservoirs (8nos) ; installation of new storage capacities (8nos) ; rehabilitation of booster stations and annexes (2nos) ; installation of water treatment facilities (3nos) ; installation of chlorination plants (5nos) ; rehabilitation and extension of water distribution networks (–45 km) and accessories ; and the provision of equipment and material for household connection (–1300nos).
Participation in tendering is open on equal termes to all natural and legal persons of the Member States of the European Union and the beneficiary countries of the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) programme. For the purposes of this contract, exceptions to the rule on nationality and origin will apply to allow Australian and New Zealand companies to participate in the tender.

Tenders must be submitted using the standard tender forms included in the tender dossier, whose format and instructions must be strictly observed. The tender dossier can be obtained for a non-refundable fee of SAT$500 00 (cash only) from the above address. Tender dossiers can also be forwarded by courier to eligible tenderers outside of Samoa for an additional fee of SAT$300 00.
A mandatory clarification meeting and site visit will be held 4t h to 6 t h September 2006. Tenderers should confirm attendance with the Managing Director of the Samoa Water Authority.
The deadline for submission of tenders is 14:00 on Tuesday 17 th october 2006 (Samoan local time).
